Unplug these appliances and devices when they are not in use and start to see the savings on your electric bill.

Did you know that keeping your curtains drawn during day helps you save money by keeping your home cooler without having to use the AC as frequently. Between the hours of 2 and 3 PM are the hottest times of the day where your AC tends to run more. 30% of unwanted heat enters through the windows. Try upgrading your curtains to black out energy saving ones. There are a wide variety of colors and patterns to choose from for everyone's budget. Roll up blinds now have options that allow you to see out of them but they have UV blockers in the material.

Using your ceiling fan to move air and put less stress and strain on your HVAC system. This tip works all year round. Most fans have the ability to turn both clockwise and counter clock wise. Spin your fan clockwise in the summer months and counter clockwise in the winter months to pull the heat down from the top of the ceilings.
